WHT was Incorporated in 1987 with a clear objective to provide low cost housing for sale or rent and to promote the improvement of housing conditions. The aim of the Trust is to reduce the waiting list of local authorities and is committed to improving the living conditions of its residents.

The values of the Trust are based on family values and we hold the wellbeing of our residents as our highest priority.

Brian Barron worked tirelessly throughout his 23 years as Chief Executive of the Trust to provide and improve housing in the Winchester district. Wales Street and Colson Road were at the time a pioneering example of local authority and an independent housing provider working together for the first time to provide high quality affordable housing.

The Trust is now run by 7 voluntary board members and the Chief Executive Andrew Simpson. Andrew is passionate about providing affordable housing in the Winchester District. With the support of the Board he continuously strives to fulfil the long established ethics that make the Trust the compassionate, supportive and caring organisation that it is.

The Board of Directors oversee the work of the Trust ensuring the ethics and values are preserved and it’s core objectives are being met.
